Grey Goose was founded in 1997 by Sidney Frank, who collaborated with cellar master François Thibault — a Cognac expert — to create a luxury vodka from Picardie winter wheat and natural spring water from Gensac-la-Pallue, Cognac. Single-distilled and never touched by a second distillation, it quickly became the world benchmark for ultra-premium vodka.
