José Cuervo was founded in 1795, when Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo received the first official charter from the King of Spain to produce tequila commercially, making it the world's oldest active tequila producer. Reserva de la Familia is the Cuervo family's private reserve — the world's first extra-añejo tequila (released 1995), produced in limited quantities at La Rojeña distillery using copper pot stills, and hand-numbered. Each year the decanter features an original Mexican artwork.

Tequila Style Extra Añejo (3+ years, Limited)
ABV 40%
Agave 100% Blue Weber Agave, Hand-Selected
Tasting Notes Dark amber. A rich bouquet of oak, fruit, almonds, apples and a hint of cinnamon on the nose. Rich and nutty on the palate with toasted almonds, vanilla and cinnamon leading to a long, silky finish with lingering warmth. Double Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition — rated 96 points by the Beverage Tasting Institute.
Serve Sipped slowly and neat in a crystal glass — this is the Cuervo family's finest expression, not a mixing tequila
