Casa Herradura has been cultivating Blue Weber agave on its San José del Refugio Hacienda in Amatitán, Jalisco since 1870 — one of Mexico's most celebrated and historic tequila estates. The agave grows for up to 10 years before hand-harvesting. Selección Suprema — the world's first Extra Añejo tequila, launched in 1995 — is aged for 49 months in American white oak, a full year more than required for the Extra Añejo category.

Tasting Notes Golden caramel in colour. A mellow, elegant nose of vanilla, cigar box and subtle dark chocolate-covered cherry with cinnamon spice. Rich vanilla on the palate with dried toasty oak, caramel-rich roasted agave, toffee apple and dried fruit. Espresso and cacao notes emerge on the long, lingering finish. Named Best Extra Añejo in the World at the 2014 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
