Ca'Marcanda is Gaja's Bolgheri estate in coastal Tuscany, established by Angelo Gaja in 1996 to apply his Piedmont expertise to international grape varieties grown on the region's limestone and clay soils. Promis — from the Italian ‘promessa’, meaning promise — is the estate's lively entry-level red, sourced from the dark, lime-and-clay terre brune soils of Bolgheri and Bibbona.

Wine Description Deep ruby red, with ripe black fruit aromas of dark cherry, plum and blackberry layered with an earthy, dusty complexity and a whisper of oak and black pepper. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, with the Merlot lending richness, the Syrah dark fruit and backbone, and the Sangiovese adding freshness and a dynamic, savoury finish.
