Ca'Marcanda is Gaja's Bolgheri estate in coastal Tuscany, established by Angelo Gaja in 1996 to apply his Piedmont expertise to international grape varieties grown on the region's limestone and clay soils. Promis — from the Italian ‘promessa’, meaning promise — is the estate's lively entry-level red, sourced from the dark, lime-and-clay terre brune soils of Bolgheri and Bibbona.
