Chateau Bel-Air Pomerol comes from a family-run Right Bank estate dating back to the late 1800s, owned today by the Melet family under Vignobles Sudrat Melet. Grown on the sandy, gravelly soils that define Pomerol, the wine is built almost entirely on Merlot, giving it the plush, velvety character the appellation is known for. Aged in French oak for up to 18 months, it settles into a deep garnet-hued red with a bouquet of red and black fruit, violets, cedar and truffle, closing on a long, chocolate-and-espresso finish.
