Russian Standard was founded in 1998 by Russian entrepreneur Roustam Tariko and is distilled at the Russian Standard Distillery in St. Petersburg, using winter wheat from the Russian steppes and glacial water from Lake Ladoga — the largest freshwater lake in Europe. Platinum is the brand's ultra-premium expression, triple-filtered and distilled to 'Alpha' grade — the same standard used by Beluga Gold Line and Elit.
