Chateau Bellegrave is one of the last family-owned, non-classified estates in Pauillac, run today by brothers Julien and Ludovic Meffre. Its small 8.75-hectare vineyard sits on gravelly soil in the heart of the appellation, wedged between grand cru neighbours Chateau Latour, Pichon-Longueville and Lynch-Bages. The blend is built around Cabernet Sauvignon with a supporting share of Merlot, giving a wine that punches well above its unclassified status.
